Children and teachers at Ling Gesar School

This school is not only for the Tibetan refugees but caters for all the Indian children in the surrounding poor villages.  It was set up 20 years ago and before 2003 was near to closure due to lack of funds. Since 2003 a charitable trust in Germany has been set up under the guidance of Ringu Tulku: Bodhicharya Huttenried - Dharma-Tor Charitable Trust, Germany.

To help maintain and improve the education and health facilities, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche has also asked Rigul Trust, with its UK charity registration status, to help fund these projects.

The School - funds are needed for:

We are happy to offer our support for the children, the school, the health and welfare of the community of Tibetan refugees in this remote part of Dehra Dun, India.

Patients awaiting treatment

These people are from the Lingtsang area of Kham, Tibet around the Rigul area, where Ringu Tulku Rinpoche was born. These people are hard working and make a living from the hand crafted goods that they produce. They have a special skill in the making of Bells and Dorjees.

The Health Station

The primitive facilities at the Health Centre need much improvement

The Health Station - funds are needed for the:

The health station is available to the poor Indian people as well as the Tibetans, and they can see the doctor and get free medicines. All this is what needs to be maintained.

Future plans - what is also needed in Dehra Dun is:

1 A doctor to visit more often
2 A dentist to visit
3 More classrooms; in 3 years, the number of children attending has doubled
4 Facilities for secondary education

5 More educational and health equipment
